A good practice seminar event on health and employment

Rhyl City Strategy’s Fit for Work Service is currently taking bookings for our forthcoming “WORKING WELL” event, which is taking place on 11^th November 2010 at Rhyl Town Hall. This free seminar offers an opportunity to find out about good practice in employment and health, and will showcase a range of initiatives to support and improve workplace health, including workshops on the new ‘Fit Note’, the Small Workplace Health Award, Healthy Working Wales and Flexible Working. John Griffiths, Director of work2health, Cardiff, will be the event’s keynote speaker. The event should be of particular interest to employers and health professionals.

Invitation to premiere film screening 7th October

Rhyl City Strategy is celebrating the success of its Future Jobs Fund programme on October 7^th 2010 by hosting a premier screening of a short film specially created to showcase the programme. Welsh Assembly Minister at the Department of Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills, Leighton Andrews, will be addressing an invited audience at the Scala Cinema, Prestatyn to hear about the achievements of the programme and of the young people who have taken part. The 10-minute film was created by TAPE community music and film, and features interviews with a number of Future Jobs employees and their employers, describing the benefits of the programme. At the event, a number of young people will also be telling the Minister in person about their experiences on the programme, and how it has helped them find employment.

These 3 week courses are FREE run for around 15 hours per week and will help you if you are looking to start to develop your skills in these areas

They are in child-friendly hours. There may be help with travel and childcare costs too.
