WHO ARE WE
In July 2002, Chris Ruane MP called a meeting to address the
pockets of persistently high and long-term unemployment in Rhyl
West and Rhyl South West. This meeting led to the establishment of
a group that brought together all the agencies that share
responsibility for tackling these problems and identifying actions
needed.
In 2006, the group was successful in its bid to have Rhyl
included as one of the City Strategy Pathfinders within the
Department of Work and Pensions' programme to tackle
worklessness. An Executive Board was formed to provide
governance for the group.
Rhyl City Strategy was formally launched at an event in Rhyl
Town Hall and United Reform Church on 25th January 2008. On
April 9th 2008, the Board was incorporated as a Community Interest
Company. Read more...
