WHO ARE WE

 

In July 2002, Chris Ruane MP called a meeting to address the pockets of persistently high and long-term unemployment in Rhyl West and Rhyl South West. This meeting led to the establishment of a group that brought together all the agencies that share responsibility for tackling these problems and identifying actions needed.

In 2006, the group was successful in its bid to have Rhyl included as one of the City Strategy Pathfinders within the Department of Work and Pensions' programme to tackle worklessness.  An Executive Board was formed to provide governance for the group.

Rhyl City Strategy was formally launched at an event in Rhyl Town Hall and United Reform Church on 25th January 2008.  On April 9th 2008, the Board was incorporated as a Community Interest Company.  Read more...

An operational team is based at Wood Road, West Rhyl, consisting of Project Manager Ali Thomas, Employer Liaison Officer Julia Cain, Community Projects Officer Jennie Walker, and Project Administrator Susan Jeffrey.
