Rhyl City Strategy - Interim Evaluation
Report
Rhyl City Strategy is one of 15 UK pathfinders taking park in a
Department of Work and Pension's programme to tackle
worklessness. A part of the programme, DWP commissioned the
Institute for Employment Research at the University of Warwick to
undertake a national evaluation of City Strategy. The
national evaluation is concerned with capturing evidence about
processes of change; differences in governance, delivery and
performance; outcomes; and transferable lessons. In addition,
Area Evaluation Advisors were appointed to support the Pathfinders
in conducting their own local evaluation activity and to assist in
alerting the national evaluation team to emerging evidence.
The attached interim evaluation report covers the set-up period
of Rhyl City Strategy and provides a baseline and a set of
recommendations for moving forward into the next phase. Rhyl
City Strategy is grateful to Anne Green of the University of
Warwick for her support in producing the report, as well as to all
the individuals who took part in focus group meetings and telephone
interviews.
