Small Workplace Health

As part of a drive to improve Corporate Health Standards in Wales, the Department of Public Health has developed a new Corporate Standard in Small Workplace Health.  The Rhyl City Strategy Community Interest Company has been working towards this new Standard, and is due to pick up its bronze award at a ceremony in Cardiff on 16th March 2009.   In working towards the award, the

Company has developed its health and safety policies and procedures, with a focus on promoting the health benefits that can be gained through physical activity.  The project team completed the Race for Life in Rhyl in June 2008, as well as making an attempt up Snowdon in August (before poor weather conditions and childcare responsibilities forced a retreat).  The team are now entering the South West Rhyl Communities First five-mile fun run at the end of April 2009.  For more information on the Corporate Health Award, contact Carol Tunnah, Principal Practitioner for Workplace Health at carol.tunnah@nphs.wales.nhs.uk, or on 01978 356974
